Health and biomedicine are inherently multimodal, and require integration of multiple heterogeneous data sources to develop truly personalized models. In this talk. Cory McLean will describe architectural strategies for augmenting existing multimodal LLMs with clinical data ranging from tabular values to waveforms to genomic features. He will also present a foundation model his team developed to operate natively on EHR codes and genomic data. Finally, he'll discuss the relative strengths of each approach in the context of clinical utility.
