During this talk, Dennis P. Wall, PhD, FACMI, will cover a few pressing health issues that AI is and could address, various current and future embodiments of and potentials for empathic AI, and current realities and opportunities for managing uncertainty in AI outcomes.
About Dennis P. Wall, PhD, FACMI
Dennis P. Wall is Professor of Pediatrics (Clinical Informatics), Biomedical Data Science, and Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford Medical School. He leads a lab in Pediatric Innovation leveraging biomedical informatics to disentangle complex conditions, including autism and related developmental delays. He has pioneered the development and translation of new AI methods for diagnosis and treatment, including AI-enabled wearable digital devices, and the first FDA-approved AI diagnostic for autism. He has founded four companies, published over 200 journal articles and patents, and received numerous awards and honors, including being named in the world’s top 10 autism specialists, a Fierce 50 innovator, a Slifka/Ritvo awardee, and a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics. Dr. Wall completed his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley and postdoctoral training at Stanford University.
