Dr. Mandl will identify the challenges and opportunities of this unique moment, and the risks and openings it creates for the status quo in health care.
About Ken Mandl, MD, MPH
Ken Mandl, MD, MPH, is the Donald A.B. Lindberg Professor of Pediatrics and Professor of Biomedical Informatics at Harvard Medical School and directs the Computational Health Informatics Program at Boston Children's Hospital. His work centers on artificial intelligence and computation in health care, including federated networks through which hospitals learn from every patient, evidence standards for AI deployed at scale, and the redesign of care delivery around both. Trained in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine, he has helped shape national health information technology policy, and open data standards he co-created are embedded in federal law and in every certified electronic health record. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and co-chairs its Digital Health and AI Action Collaborative.
