DoC-IT is thrilled to announce the addition of three individuals to the Clinical Informatics Fellowship! Joining us this fall, each brings a unique set of skills and experiences that will enrich the program and fortify the fellowship's commitment to advancing healthcare through informatics.

Meet Our Fellows

Sara Kashani
Sara Kashani

Academic and professional background: Medical degree and MPH from Iran, Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and Rheumatology Fellowship at Stanford University.

Special interests in clinical informatics: Utilizing innovations in informatics and digital health to improve healthcare delivery for patients with rare diseases.

Fun fact: Sara is an avid reader who loves science fiction stories. 

 

Dan Qazi
Dan Qazi

Academic and professional background: Medical school in Connecticut at the Frank H. Netter School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University. Subsequently completed residency in Anatomic Pathology followed by a fellowship in Cytopathology, both at UCSF

Special interests in clinical informatics: Utilizing computational approaches to improving diagnostics and workflows in Anatomic Pathology

Fun fact: Dan likes to be outdoors as much as possible running, cycling, hiking and climbing mountains. He also loves electronic music.

 

Sristi Sharma
Sristi Sharma

Academic and professional background: Preventive Medicine physician by training, currently splitting time as an Informatics Medical Consultant at CA Department of Health Care Services and clinically as a STD/HIV specialist at the Sacramento County Department of Health. 

Special interests in clinical informatics: Exploring how healthcare data and policies related to them can be leveraged to improve access to care. Also, better understand and develop evidence-based strategies that address data governance and use, to advance healthcare initiatives.

Fun fact: Sristi enjoys everything related to TV and film media. During her residency, she did a rotation on ABC's Good Morning America as a part of the Medical Unit. She also volunteers as an on-camera medical expert for ABC Sacramento.
