Pre-register now! Survey to shape federal digital health policy

Get a chance to be on stage with UCSF at a major national conference! Pre-register to participate in a national survey to help shape federal digital health policy.

Pre-register now

Conference photoThe University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) has once again partnered with the Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy (ASTP, formerly the ONC) to launch a brief, national survey focused on digital health companies and their experience with APIs integrating with commercial electronic health records (EHRs).

Our last survey informed this report and shaped national policy (see some results below). Now, we’re gearing up for the next round—and we want to hear from you.

Why participate?

Digital health companies are leading innovation across care delivery, patient engagement, and clinical decision support—but EHR integration remains a critical challenge. This survey is your chance to:

  • Share your experiences with EHR API integrations—what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to change.

  • Inform federal health IT policy that could directly impact your business and the broader industry.

  • Amplify your voice: Pre-registered participants who complete the survey will be entered for a chance to speak on stage with UCSF in a panel at a major national conference attended by decision makers.

Pre-registration is open now! By signing up, you’ll be the first to know when the survey launches later this year in winter 2025-2026, and you’ll be eligible for the opportunity to present your experience at major industry events.

Together, we can improve interoperability and help build a digital health ecosystem that works for everyone. Thank you for your interest in taking our survey!

Note: All individual survey respondents and responses will be de-identified, responses are aggregated, and no identifiable information is ever shared.

What did we learn from our last survey?

From the 2024 publication on the previous survey, see below for examples of what we learned were the biggest barriers digital health companies faced in integrating with EHRs via APIs.
