Sachin Pendse, PhD, selected as UC National Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement Fellow
We’re proud to share that DoC-IT’s Sachin Pendse, PhD, has been selected as a UC National Center for Free Speech and Civic Engagement 2026-2027 Fellow!
Dr. Pendse, assistant professor and founding director of the Lab for Technology, Mental Health, and Society (TeMHSo Lab), joins an incredible cohort of fellows whose work spans AI in civic education, academic freedom, and cross-partisan community building. He will investigate whether sharing mental health struggles (and supporting others through them) can help bridge partisan divides and reduce outgroup animosity, with a specific focus on online and offline campus peer mental health spaces.
You’ll be under relentless pressure to figure out how to deliver the highest quality, safest, most satisfying care… at the lowest possible cost.
