Welcome to the 2026 UCSF AI4ALL Summer Interns!
We are delighted to welcome the 2026 cohort of UCSF AI4ALL summer interns, who officially began their program on campus on June 15.
UCSF AI4ALL is a rigorous summer internship program that introduces talented high school students to the intersection of artificial intelligence and biomedicine. The program is co-directed by cross-institutional leaders at UCSF: Julia Adler-Milstein, PhD; Nadav Ahituv, PhD; Raman Khanna, MD, MAS; Tomiko Oskotsky, MD; and Marina Sirota, PhD.
This year’s cohort of 12 students was selected from 41 total applicants. The incoming interns hail from San Francisco Unified School District schools: Abraham Lincoln, Balboa, and Lowell High Schools.
“We are excited to bring UCSF AI4ALL back in person this year,” said Dr. Khanna, program co-director and professor of clinical medicine and associate chief of education in the UCSF Division of Clinical Informatics and Digital Transformation. “It is especially exciting to teach this cohort of 12 students how AI can be applied to biomedicine and to help inspire the next generation of leaders in AI and health.”
Students have already completed their orientation and are ready to dive in. The eight-week program will culminate in a final symposium on August 14.
“UCSF AI4ALL launched in 2019 as an in-person program,” said Dr. Oskotsky, program co-director and associate professor in the UCSF Division of Clinical Informatics and Digital Transformation. “After several years of virtual programming from 2020 through 2024, it is wonderful to welcome this new group of students to UCSF in person and introduce them to the ways AI can be used to advance biomedicine and health.”
Special thanks to The March of Dimes for their generous support of this program, and to the outstanding UCSF faculty who serve as lecturers and mentors.
